Long time back I saw a song on VH1, titled “The Importance of Being Idle”. Not that I fell in love with the song, but the message was excellent. When you’ve got nothing to do, whatever your do would most probably be the reflection of your inner desire, or as Steve Jobs had put it, “…somehow your heart already knows what you want!”

Sorry for not being around much, but you may agree how difficult it is in such times… a blank and bleak state of conscience, seeking desparetely for a ray of hope. You may just not know which step it is that can take you to the destination you really desire. You may even be unaware of that desire itself.

What to do?

Well, Enigma has already sang it, in the song Goodbye Milky Way – “Follow your heart, believe in faith..”;  I strongly recommend listening to this song, for a better, bigger vision that it helps listener visualize… dream big…here’s the lyrics:

When you think of what’s to gain, or to loose. When you weigh the bet, its seems its not easy. Its not meant to be. But when you think again, nothing else really matters. Everything else is secondary!

Toughest thing about any change that one desires, is to act upon it. But all it takes is a little courage, and the first few steps – One step at a time. And, to learn THIS, you got to be sitting idle for more than a while.

If you’ve known me for long enough, you might know that I get deeply engrossed by and involved with the music I listen, I adapt, I love, and then… I live through.

There hasn’t been good new releases (for my taste) for quite some time in the international rock spectrum recently! But this one captured me, completely.

After the much acclaimed American Idiot, Green Day comes with another wonderful album with their own signature elements! If truth must be told, I never listened much of rock till I came across Metallica (well, thats too solid a taste for all to start with, but I loved their evergreen titles anyway! And yes, I can proudly say, I love rock!!!) Coming back to the Green Day’s release, 21st Century Breakdown, there’s much to offer to the listener in the two CD bundle with 18 solid tracks.

One of my close friends once had a discussion with me (when I was much into Hip-Hop and Rap and blues – all at once though for different reasons and specialties) when I argued whether Rock is the evergreen genre or not! I was ignoramus then!?

Especially after coming across some of the best music of the rock scene’s history, my perception changed a bit, giving a a bit preferential treatment and a special place for Rock in my heart.

Coming back to Green Day, I recall the first song I heard from them was Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Still, its one of my all time favorites! They’ve always proved the special place they deserve in the Rock scene.

21st Century Breakdown comes with 3 portions termed as acts. This gives a unique identity by segregating the tracks in a special theme, under the act names Heroes and Cons, Charlatans and Saints, Horseshoes and Handgranades. As always, you’ll fall in love the way they tell you the story.  Its a must-own album for rock fans, with a touch of ballads, a concern for the world overflowing in most of their songs, and lyrics filled with awesomely apt vocab.

Some of the must listen songs, which I’ve been constantly listening and humming for past couple of weeks, are Last Night On Earth, Viva La Gloria, Viva La Gloria (Little Girl), Know Your Enemy, 21 Guns, Restless Heart Syndrome… Ahh, well, each of them is special; and most of it will soothe your Rock appetite for sure. But these all are my (current) favs from this album!

Not saying I am capable of, but if I had to rate this album, it would get a score of something around 84/100. Though it was instinctive, I could separate the scores amongst: Music (19/25), Lyrics (21/25), Theme (20/25) and Technical (24/25) aspects.

I doubt whether we can indeed consider the current era as information age.

Now more often, more than ever, we’re simply fed with the pre-planned propaganda of politics and few masterminds through the brainstorming led by media. News is not just broadcast, but its made, twisted, or kept hidden. Only that which suits the planner’s purpose reaches us.

Current generation blindly follows the media. Takes for granted whatever is served.

Came across Green Day’s song American Idiot. Loved the way this band’s sharp remarks over the media, and the war cry to refuse the brainstorming. I quite a lot agree to the statements made in this song.

It simply fills one with passion, while still standing against the society and holding the belief one has.

Valentine’s Day is here! Once again. It comes and goes like a wind. And leaves me wondering what matters indeed.

I guess, its just another ordinary day with extraordinary emphasis on a feeling that is more omnipresent than the cliche of V-Day itself. It, however, reiterates the importance of this universal feeling called love.

Its not always possible to find the answers… the right answers. So, why not simply enjoy the illusions, the ecstasy and the excitement!

For that, I tried searching songs in my collection that had ‘love’ in its title, or were on my tip of tongue recently. And so here’s the list of one of my favourite Love / Valentine’s Day songs! Check out the latest love songs listed here too, which have got me buzzing for some time recently.

Just started a new project… well, not a project.. bit simply a random mash-up.. I was just checking the output of my new headphones, and this piece sounded superb with it!

Basically, aiming to make some good rap/soul beats for a family-cousin from Canada. Lets see what comes out..
